"Controlled Environment Permaculture" may seem a bit of an oxymoron, and some purists would say you can't do permaculture in a controlled environment. However, many people who call themselves permaculturalists are using controlled environments such as greenhouses and aquaculture tanks. Furthermore, as the climate becomes more unstable, the need for producing food in controlled environments may increase. Nothing in the Three Ethics precludes using controlled environments, and besides, this site is concerned with anything that is useful in creating a culture of permanence.
Within this category you will find courses on greenhouse design and usage (actual construction courses will be in Building Construction and Maintenance), hydroponics, aquaponics, Controlled Environment Life Support Systems, bioshelters, houseplants, and anything else where you are raising plants or animals for food indoors.
